"A colleague at work recommended Hugh when I told her we were going to renovate our house. Unlike other builders he was happy to set up a meeting soon after our phone call. When we met we knew we had our builder! Hugh was full of information, nothing seemed too hard to work out and he was very much on the same page in terms of making our new home happen! We received our quote for the build shortly after the meeting and Hugh was happy to meet up again and go through all the details to ensure we understood what was quoted. I was initially worried when starting the build that I would have issues with me being a woman and the main contact for the build, and even when initially calling other builders to get quotes and set up meetings felt that this may have been an issue, with calls not returned and high prices being quoted. This was not the case with HB Built. I felt comfortable that I was treated as anyone would have been, not only at the quoting stage but throughout the entire build.

Upon commencement of the build there was no wasting of time! Our home was completely gutted and rebuilt as well as extension to double storey and the whole process took about 4 months. We had moved into the house next door and Hugh was aware that we had a set time frame that we had to be out of that house by and kept this as a priority. Living next door was fortunate as we were able to keep an eye on progress and no matter when or how often we came over, Hugh was always happy to stop and talk us through what they were up to. We very much felt a part of the build and in the know at all times. Hugh’s team of builders were also all professional and friendly, also happy to stop and take the time to explain what they had done for the day. Hugh also gave us plenty of time to organise what we had to in terms of paint colours, tiles, flooring etc so that we never felt like we had to make a rushed decision.

On completion we got our perfect home - I could not complain about a single component of the build or the end result. I have since had tradespeople come into the home for various reasons i.e. pest control, and also valuers who have all commented on how I must have had a great builder because the finishings are excellent and it is even so tidy in the roof! I would have no hesitation in recommending HB Built or using them again."
